Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Flex Code Labs Limited for using Memoir. By using the app, you accept them. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms add rules for Memoir's accounts, backup, subscriptions and sharing. Mandatory rights under the law where you live still apply.

Your memories are yours

You keep your rights to everything you create in Memoir. You give us the limited permission needed to store, process and deliver your content as you direct, including to people you choose to share it with. This permission ends when the content or account is deleted, apart from the limited records described in our Privacy Policy.

Your account

You can use Memoir without an account. You create an account with Sign in with Apple to use backup, more than one device and sharing. You may add a verified email address as another way to sign in. Signing in does not by itself decrypt existing memories: a trusted device, transfer from another device or a recovery method is also needed. Keep your Apple Account, email account and devices secure. You can sign out devices and delete your account in Settings at any time. You must be at least 13 years old to use Memoir.

Sharing with other people

You control what you share and who receives it. People you share with can view the shared content in Memoir and may be able to save, export or capture it. Removing access removes the content from their copy of Memoir when their device next syncs, but it cannot undo a screenshot, export or other copy they already made.

Only share content you have the right to share. Don't use names, handles, friend requests, shared spaces or reports to harass, impersonate, threaten, exploit or deceive anyone. Don't share illegal content or content that violates another person's privacy or intellectual-property rights. You can block and report people in the app. We may review reports and restrict or remove accounts or shared content when reasonably necessary to protect people, operate the service or comply with law.

Free, Pro and storage

Fair use

Don't use Memoir to break or overload the service, get around its limits or security, probe for vulnerabilities, or access another person's account or content without permission. We may suspend or limit an account that does. Where practical, we'll explain why unless doing so would create a safety or security risk or the law prevents it.

Backups are your safety net, and ours

We work hard to keep your memories safe, but no service can promise it will never fail. Keep a separate copy of what matters most: Memoir can save everything you've kept as a backup file from Settings → Backup & Sync. Your memories are end-to-end encrypted. If you choose to create a recovery kit or use another recovery option, keep it safe. If you lose every device and have no working recovery method, we can't unlock your memories for you.

Changes to Memoir

We keep improving Memoir, which means features can change. If we ever stop offering the service, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice in the app so you can save a copy of everything.

Disclaimers and liability

Memoir is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't give warranties beyond those in these terms, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for more than what you paid us in the 12 months before a claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

Ending

You can stop using Memoir and delete your account whenever you like. Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription, so cancel it in Apple's subscription settings if you no longer want it to renew. We may end these terms if you seriously break them. When your account is deleted, its content is erased from our live systems, subject to the limited safety, deletion and backup records described in the Privacy Policy.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without taking away protections you have under the laws of where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Memoir afterwards means you accept them.
